My sweet Raelynn turns one in a couple weeks! I know this sounds so cliche to say but it seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital paranoid by her every move and sound. Now she’s no longer my quiet and frail 5lb baby but my bold, strong-willed and loving girl and she’s growing up so beautifully right before our eyes! For her first birthday we invited some of our closest friends and family to spend the day with us at Disney (one of the perks of living in Orlando) and afterwards we plan on indulging in cake and singing Happy Birthday!
Of course being me though I wanted to still decorate and create the “perfect” environment to have cake in, so I decided to DIY a first birthday shoot. Originally I wanted this to be a cake smashing photo shoot but Raelynn is apparently not a fan of cake (this was the first time I’ve allowed her to have sweets). So although I got a couple shots of her with the cake, the majority of the photos are with her playing with the balloons (which she absolutely loved).
I was actually extremely pleased with how easy and inexpensive this all was and how quickly I was able to put it all together! When Raelynn went down for her morning nap I picked up white fadeless bulletin board paper, balloons and tassel garlandfor all under $20! Her personalized name banner I ordered off of Etsy for $12 and I’m pretty sure I’m going to reuse it to hang up in her room!
All in all even though the shoot didn’t turn out a hundred percent how I wanted it to, I still fell in love with every picture! Raelynn is such a mini model and I just love her personality and being able to capture her many facial expressions!
