I’ve mentioned multiple times on here before that I’m a dry skin girl.
I know so many oily skin girls that hate having oily skin, but I would chose having oily skin over dry skin any day! There seems to be so many products out there targeted for women with oily skin but not too many that target dry skin.
But we all want what we can’t have.
As a dry skin girl I know I can’t just try any and everything out there unless I’m ok with having a breakout or dry patches that I’ll have to end up treating. I’ve clearly learned this the hard way but the makeup lover in me loves playing in makeup with different looks and styles.
I’ve came across some dry skin friendly products that if you’re a dry skin (or even combination skin) girl like me I’m sure you’ll love!
Fenty Hydrating Foundation
I’ve been wanting to write a review on this foundation since I got it the day it came out. I’ve gone through this foundation quicker than I have gone through any other foundation before and it’s probably my second favorite foundation of all time (first will probably always be the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear). It’s not only super hydrating and keeps a natural glow it also has the best coverage I’ve seen in a hydrating foundation.
Loreal Pro Glow
So this is one of my favorite drugstore foundations just because it gives a natural subtle glow. The natural subtle glow it gives makes it my favorite foundation during the summer months when its too hot to function in makeup. This foundation also looks absolutely perfect mixed with the Fenty Hydrating Foundation. I’ve found that it adds a lot of warmth to my Fenty foundation and gives it a “boost of glow”. Priced at under $8 it’s absolutely perfect for those of you who aren’t necessary makeup crazed but still looking for a little extra something!
Becca Hydrating Power
Guys, you don’t know how long I’ve been searching for a setting powder I love and I have finally found the answer! As a dry skin girl one of the biggest problems I was having with powders were them immediately drying out my under eyes and making my makeup look patchy and cakey. I also felt like so many powders out there were oxidizing to weird colors under my eyes. All in all the trial and error of finding the perfect setting powder was just a hot mess and a half. This powder is super interesting because it gives a wet and cool effect as soon as you put it on your face. I have also found that unlike most powders it doesn’t change the look of my makeup after I put it on. The packaging is also really unique in that the netted cover allows me to have control of how much powder I’m putting on.
Mario Badescu
I’m sure I’ve talked about this product a million times on my blog but I promise you its just really that good. It’s simply just the perfect solution for me to spray it on quickly when I’m feeling dry (either with or without makeup). I’ve tried a couple of other sprays over the past couple years and none of them really compare to giving me that refreshed and hydrating feeling that this spray does.
Milk Highlighter
A big dry skin girl no no I’m finally starting to learn is to not layer powders. It not only makes you look patchy and dry in the end but it also will probably just dry you out more in the end. So as a result I’ve been using this stick as a highlighter since the beginning part of this year. It does everything you’d expect a highlighter to do, it has great pigment payoff and is pretty long lasting. On days I’m not really feeling like wearing makeup but still want to look a little put together I find myself using my eyebrow pencil and this!
Taking care of my skin in general has also been a huge game changer in making sure I’m not staying dry. I’ve found a skin care regimen that has been working perfect for me. Lastly the obvious of making sure I’m drinking a lot of water on the daily has kept my skin super hydrated!
