Lately, I’ve been confident and sure of myself in ways I haven’t been in a really long time. Life hasn’t always been this way though. Insecurities and doubt happen to the best of us. Our mind can oftentimes deceive us, especially if it’s not properly renewed. God made our bodies in a complex and intricate way but at times, our hormones get muddied up or we’re faced with trauma and never receive the proper healing and deliverance. But, our God is a healer. He makes us whole. The price for all the sins and infirmities in the world was paid a long time ago through our savior Jesus Christ. It is now up to us to declare healing, seek wisdom, seek spiritual solutions, AND seek natural solutions. When it comes to seeking wisdom I like to turn to these 8 bible verses to build my confidence. These verses point me to His nature and His point of view. They are sweet reminders that the more I think like Him, the better I think of myself! These 8 bible verses will build your confidence in ways only God can do.
#1
My flaws don’t limit me. His power is greater. For context, Paul has been pleading with God to remove a “thorn from his flesh”, yet this was God’s response. I turn to this verse to be reminded that God can work through my physical and emotional “thorns”. His power is limitless. His power is greater than any “thorn” we have.

How precious are your thoughts about me, Oh God. They cannot be numbered!
God sees me as His precious creation. Over the years I’ve had to stop looking at myself the way the world sees me and look at myself the way He sees me.
#3
His love for me runs too deep, I can’t mess this thing up. This is hands down one of my favorite verses. It doesn’t matter if I think my body isn’t up to par or I’m “too awkward”. As stated in Psalm 139:17, His thoughts of me are still precious.
#4
He loved me even when I didn’t deserve it. It doesn’t matter what I’ve done. He loves me as I am, even if no one else does. If you read the whole chapter in verse 2, you’ll find that in Christ we are brought to a place of undeserved privilege so we can now stand confidently and joyfully.
#5
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
He intentionally made me. He cares about every detail of me. As the very next verse states, YOU are valuable to God. Most importantly He cares about your heart. But that doesn’t negate the little details He cares about, like the hairs on your head!
#6
For God didn’t give us the spirit of fear. But of love, power and a sound mind.
If it’s not from Him, it’s not of Him. I can’t count the number of times I have to get my feelings in check. We have to be honest with what we’re feeling and ask ourselves “is that emotion attached to the nature of God”. If not, recognize that it’s not of Him and call it what it is…a trick of the enemy.
#7
God has a purpose for me. You weren’t brought into the body of Christ for nothing! It doesn’t matter what life currently looks like, we have to trust He still has a plan for us.
#8
Every thought of mine must align with His thoughts. To piggyback off of 2 Timothy 1:7, we have to know His nature so that we can make our own thoughts obedient to Him. Once we understand what’s of Him, it’s now our responsibility to shut down the thoughts that aren’t of Him. This includes our insecurities, feelings of doubt, and lack in confidence.
I hope these bible verses are helpful to you and build your confidence! These 8 bible verses should not only build your confidence but also help you walk firmly in your purpose and calling. In really hard seasons I love to place these verses on sticky notes on my mirror or nightstand. Somewhere I can easily read it as a sweet reminder of how He sees me.
