So, this past weekend I had the worst craving for brownies. This is quite ironic considering Shawn and I created a “home” gym in our garage last week. ? I fought the craving for as long as I could but eventually caved in and made brownies (yeah, I’m still working on the “self-control” part)! To my defense though, I’ve recently learned how to make box brownies taste homemade. It’s super easy to make and I promise it’ll be the best fudge-like brownies you’ll ever have!
What kind of box brownies do I need?
It’s up to you! This recipe is so basic I don’t feel like you have to have a certain brand of box brownies to make these taste delicious and homemade. We traditionally use the Duncan Hines brand brownies because usually only $1 and I like to buy 3 at a time because I never know when I’ll want some brownies!
Ok, how do I make it? What do I need?
You will need box brownie mix, eggs (2), vegetable oil, water, chocolate chips, and espresso powder. That’s it! Essentially you’re adding espresso powder and chocolate chips while still following the ingredients and directions on the back of the box. Super simple, right?! I usually add both the chocolate chips and espresso powder to the dry mix before I add in my wet ingredients.
Once mixed, I pour the mix into a 2 qt square glass pan that has already been sprayed with butter cooking spray.
Has anyone ever tried any of these fancy brownie pans? I really want to try an edge brownie pan because who doesn’t love brownie end!?
XO
Michelle
