It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Fenty Beauty. My favorite thing about their brand is how they’ve changed the culture of the beauty industry when it comes to creating diverse products. Not to mention the quality of their products is just simply amazing. So, when my cousin told me Fenty was having a sale on National Lipstick Day, I had to snag a couple of their Mattemoiselle lipsticks.
Because I knew fall was coming up, I opted for a couple of darker shades. Although I haven’t been into a bold lip as of lately, I know in the past I’ve been a sucker for a bold lip during the fall season. The first bold fall lip I picked up was PMS which is a dark warm brown. The second fall lip I picked up was Griselda which is a pretty dark burgundy lip color.
I also snagged a beautiful classic red lipstick named Ma’damn. This shade is the perfect red for all complexions in my opinion. The pigment on all of her lipsticks is honestly really good! I can honestly already see myself wearing this lipstick during the holidays for a classic Christmas red lipstick.
Lastly, I picked up the color Flamingo Acid simply because I’m not ready to let summer go just yet! This a pretty bold pink lip that I think would be beautiful on all complexions. Out of the 4 lipsticks I bought, I think Flamingo Acid is my favorite.
Through the promotion Fenty Beauty was running on National Lipstick Day, I also received a free mini lipstick in the color Thicc. Thicc is a pinky nude shade that I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of initially if I’m being honest. But with a lip liner, I was able to make this lipstick work for me.
Packaging
The lipstick comes in a skinny silver case. It is definitely on the smaller size compared to your average lipstick. I don’t foresee this being a huge problem though considering this lipstick is so pigmented and a little goes a long way.
Formula
I didn’t have any problems with applying this lipstick, it was super easy to glide on. It is a true matte lipstick so I would suggest treating your lips with an exfoliant and balm before application to prevent your lips from over-drying. Fenty Beauty also has a lip care line that includes a lip scrub stick and a lip balm.
Wear Test
On the first day, I wore this lipstick, it lasted about 3-4 hours before I began to notice major fading. I was drinking a lot of water that day so there was a ton of transfer. If you’d like the lipstick to last longer, I’d suggest prepping your lips before application and setting it lightly with a loose setting powder after application.
This was my first time trying out Fenty’s lip line and once again, I’m impressed. The pigment on these lipsticks is probably the best I’ve tried out in a while. Not to mention, you can still grab a Fenty Mattemoiselle lipstick for $12.50!
Let me know what you think about these colors in the comments below! Do you change up lipstick colors according to the season? Or are you a classic nude lipstick girl? Next week, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite lip products as part of my Makeup Basics Series! So now is the time to catch up on the series for foundation and eye makeup tips!
