In case you missed our life update on Instagram, we are no longer Floridians. The three of us have relocated to North Carolina recently and are super excited for this new chapter. We are entering this new chapter right at the cusp of fall. Living in Florida my whole life, I’ve never had the opportunity to truly experience all 4-seasons. While the Floridian in me isn’t looking forward to experiencing cooler temps, I am excited to have an opportunity to let go of our short shorts a couple of months early and fully embrace fall weather and activities. This past week, I’ve made it my goal to start bringing in some fall staples into my toddler ‘s closet.
Shopping for Raelynn has always been one of my favorite past times. Unfortunately though, the older she gets the more opinionated she’s becoming on what she will and will not wear. So this year, I’ve decided to focus more on staple pieces she can mix and match with her favorite rainbow boots ? lol!

Botoms
Leggings// I grab multiple pairs of Cat&Jack’s $4 leggings every single year. For the most part we stick with black and grey but they come in so many other fun colors if thats your kind of thing!
Jeans// Jeans are probably my least favorite article of clothing to buy for Raelynn simply because she grows like a weed and her jeans become high-waters within a month. When I do snag jeans for her, I always aim for jeans that have an adjustable waist band in hopes that they’ll last just a little while longer. Some of my favorite denim for her in the past has came from OshKosh, Old Navy and Target.
I recently snagged some boyfriend jeans from old navy for her online, and I’m excited to change it up from traditional jeggings and skinny jeans styles.
Skirts and Overalls
What is fall without throwing in corduroys or overalls?! I love the versatility of fall skirts and overalls, simply because you can either dress them down with a basic tee or dress them up with a cute blouse.
Tops
I always like to find about 2 blouses and basic long sleeve tees in a handful of colors. I actually haven’t picked up basic long sleeve tees yet simply because the last couple of years I’ve been able to pick them up from Walmart for $3 but they don’t seem to be available just yet.
Layers
Denim Jackets are must haves in both our closets pretty much year round. They pair perfectly with dresses.
While browsing in Old Navy, I found an adorable cardigans that will pair perfectly with leggings and boots!
Towards the end of fall we will probably break out more sweaters. As of now the plan is to reuse our @LettieLovieChildrensCo sweaters from last year. The quality of these sweaters are absolutely amazing and I’m pretty sure I’ll also snag whatever new colors that come out this year as well…they’re that good!
Shoes
I’m a sucker for a good pair of boots. I haven’t snagged any boots just yet since it’s not quite cold. I’m also waiting for a good sale since I desperately need some pairs as well. I’m linking a couple boots I have my eyes on if you’re interested though.
Toddler fall staples aside, I’m also excited to get into some fall family activities. Last fall, we went to Congaree and Penn and had a blast. So stay on the look out for fall activities in Asheville, NC! ?
