It’s officially November! Meaning, the next 2 months will be filled with all of the holiday feels and I couldn’t be happier. Since having Raelynn, Christmas has become easier and easier to celebrate. I just love the joy new traditions and experiences give her. This year, I wanted to knock out the gift side of things early so that we can actually sit back and enjoy Christmas activities in December. As I’m wrapping up Christmas shopping I wanted to share with you guys this gift guide for toddlers. In this guide, you’ll find items we have loved the past couple of years, gifts I’ve heard good things about and gifts on this year’s Christmas wishlist!

In case you missed our life update on Instagram, we are no longer Floridians. The three of us have relocated to North Carolina recently and are super excited for this new chapter. We are entering this new chapter right at the cusp of fall. Living in Florida my whole life, I’ve never had the opportunity to truly experience all 4-seasons. While the Floridian in me isn’t looking forward to experiencing cooler temps, I am excited to have an opportunity to let go of our short shorts a couple of months early and fully embrace fall weather and activities. This past week, I’ve made it my goal to start bringing in some fall staples into my toddler ‘s closet.

This past week we FINALLY decided to take the plunge and go on a family trip. I’m not going to lie, leading up to the trip I was a ball of nerves. Even though Shawn and I are fully vaccinated, Raelynn obviously isn’t so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. We knew we didn’t want to go anywhere that wasn’t within driving distance but we also wanted a change up from the traditional Florida beach scene.
So, we set our sights on Atlanta, Georgia! I’ve been to Atlanta more times than I can count growing up, but Shawn had never been. To be honest, Shawn and I are super easy to entertain when we’re out of town. Give us a good restaurant and an area to people watch and we’re pretty much set LOL.

Guys. This year I somehow managed to finish Mother’s Day shopping a week early. Traditionally both Shawn and I are scrambling to find “the perfect gift” for at least one of our mamas the weekend of Mother’s Day because we have no idea what to get them lol! It happens to the best of us. ? So no worries if you find yourself in this predicament this year! I rounded up a handful of Mother’s Day gifts you can pick up this weekend from your local Target.

I love giving sentimental gifts. Gifts that will always hold a special place in your heart and can even be passed down generations. I probably got this from my mama but I’m always looking for meaningful and sentimental gifts to give to my loved ones. With Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Graduate Season coming up, I wanted to share with you some sentimental gifts I’ve been loving lately.
It may be worth mentioning, if you’re shopping for mother’s day pay close attention to shipping deadlines! On some sites you may still have time, while others you may have to pay extra for priority shipping. I probably should’ve gotten this post out last week ? but you can always bookmark any of the gifts for any other holidays later on in the year ?.

The past couple of Easters both my mama and I have made Raelynn an Easter basket. We both love keeping this tradition alive and spoiling Raelynn. This year, I swore I wasn’t going to double up on Easter baskets and I left the ball in my mama’s court. As usual though, I couldn’t resist snagging “just a couple more things”.
In our household, Easter has absolutely nothing to do with the Easter bunny. Instead we celebrate Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. We’ve been planting seeds on this concept all of Raelynn’s sweet life but the older she gets the more we’ve been getting into the meat and potatoes. So while, Easter baskets are great because I love giving gifts and Raelynn loves receiving them, I try to use some of her Easter goodies as a teachable moment.
So below I’ll share some “fun” spring/easter goodies as well as some of the goodies we use as a teachable moment.

Giving gifts to Shawn and Raelynn are probably one of my favorite past times. Given Valentine’s Day coming up I wanted to put together a small “goodie” bag for the 2 of them as a simple way to tell them I love you!

It’s kind of become a tradition in our household to have a family meeting on New Years Eve and talk about our goals. I’m a planner and my husband isn’t but this is the one time in the year we’re both very adamant about making sure we’re walking into the new year on the same page. One of the most beautiful things about marriage is having an accountability partner! Through sharing our goals and visions for not only ourselves but for our family as whole we are awarded the opportunity to bounce ideas off of one another and push each other to new levels. As ridiculous as it sounds, we also love to include Raelynn in on the fun! We want to teach her at a young age the process of setting and accomplishing goals!

Usually I feel like every year flies by, but 2020 seems like it was the longest year ever! So much has happened this year and on the surface it may seem like there’s nothing great to say about the events that transpired this year.
This verse has been so heavy on my heart the last couple of days while reflecting on all this year has brought us. 2020 has brought me so many lessons and sweet reminders. Yet through its trials I was reminded to endure and rest my faith in God and God alone.
