In case you missed our life update on Instagram, we are no longer Floridians. The three of us have relocated to North Carolina recently and are super excited for this new chapter. We are entering this new chapter right at the cusp of fall. Living in Florida my whole life, I’ve never had the opportunity to truly experience all 4-seasons. While the Floridian in me isn’t looking forward to experiencing cooler temps, I am excited to have an opportunity to let go of our short shorts a couple of months early and fully embrace fall weather and activities. This past week, I’ve made it my goal to start bringing in some fall staples into my toddler ‘s closet.

Guys. This year I somehow managed to finish Mother’s Day shopping a week early. Traditionally both Shawn and I are scrambling to find “the perfect gift” for at least one of our mamas the weekend of Mother’s Day because we have no idea what to get them lol! It happens to the best of us. ? So no worries if you find yourself in this predicament this year! I rounded up a handful of Mother’s Day gifts you can pick up this weekend from your local Target.

The past couple of Easters both my mama and I have made Raelynn an Easter basket. We both love keeping this tradition alive and spoiling Raelynn. This year, I swore I wasn’t going to double up on Easter baskets and I left the ball in my mama’s court. As usual though, I couldn’t resist snagging “just a couple more things”.
In our household, Easter has absolutely nothing to do with the Easter bunny. Instead we celebrate Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. We’ve been planting seeds on this concept all of Raelynn’s sweet life but the older she gets the more we’ve been getting into the meat and potatoes. So while, Easter baskets are great because I love giving gifts and Raelynn loves receiving them, I try to use some of her Easter goodies as a teachable moment.
So below I’ll share some “fun” spring/easter goodies as well as some of the goodies we use as a teachable moment.

Giving gifts to Shawn and Raelynn are probably one of my favorite past times. Given Valentine’s Day coming up I wanted to put together a small “goodie” bag for the 2 of them as a simple way to tell them I love you!

It’s kind of become a tradition in our household to have a family meeting on New Years Eve and talk about our goals. I’m a planner and my husband isn’t but this is the one time in the year we’re both very adamant about making sure we’re walking into the new year on the same page. One of the most beautiful things about marriage is having an accountability partner! Through sharing our goals and visions for not only ourselves but for our family as whole we are awarded the opportunity to bounce ideas off of one another and push each other to new levels. As ridiculous as it sounds, we also love to include Raelynn in on the fun! We want to teach her at a young age the process of setting and accomplishing goals!

One of my favorite things about having a 2-year-old is the ability to experience the world through her eyes. Raelynn can be quite the exquisite little one. So at every opportunity, I try to break things down to her in ways that stick. I’ve given a lot of thought to this Holiday season. It’s important to me that she understands Christmas is more than receiving gifts. Even at the precious age of 2-years-old, I want her to know what Christ expects us to do as Christians; to love God with all of our hearts and to love His people. So while looking for books to convey this message, I stumbled across The Giving Manger!
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength: The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.
Mark 12:30-31 (NLT)

11 Bible Verses To Shut Down Mom-Guilt
Mom-guilt is something I’ve struggled with from the moment I found out I was pregnant. Can I provide her with the same life I’ve been awarded? Can I make her proud? What if I can’t provide her with enough milk? How can I provide her with the most nutritious diet as possible? How can I protect her from all the evil in the world? I could go on and on with this list but I’ll spare you the rest. It’s been a long journey and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I still have my moments, but I’m finally at a point where I can keep these thoughts from spiraling out of control. For me, there’s no other way to do so other than turning to the Word and writing His words and thoughts on my heart. By making His thoughts greater than my thoughts, I leave no room for my own voice or the voices of the world to take over. So I love to meditate on these 11 bible verses to shut down mom-guilt.
Read more9 Bible Verses For Postpartum Depression
Postpartum depression is real. I know because it’s a journey I walked through for a while after I had Raelynn. It is a burden I carried until I sought Him for the wisdom, tools, and resources to overcome it all. If you’re reading this and this is your struggle as well, my prayer is that you realize that you’re not alone. You will get through this. We serve a God that is able to do abundantly more than we can ever ask for and think. He knows your needs and sees your heart. Never forget that, tie that reminder around your heart if you have to. He is near. And as you meditate on these bible verses I meditated on when I was battling postpartum depression, my prayer is that you see all that He’s trying to speak to you in this season (and remember it’s just a season and seasons are temporary!).

I’ve been so happy lately. Sure I have my bad days, but I’ve been feeling so great emotionally and physically. This year I’ve been extremely intentional in dressing myself so that I feel good. After I had Raelynn, I spent so much time wearing a mix of pregnancy clothes and oversized t-shirts and couldn’t understand why I no longer loved my body. I knew something had to change. So along with renewing my mind (talked more about this here), I took on these practical steps to begin loving my postpartum body.
