I can’t believe I did it! I completed a blog post every single weekday this month. I’ve honestly been in complete awe in all that God has done with this platform over the past couple of years. During this consistency challenge, I’ve learned a couple of major lessons.

It’s no secret that I love makeup. But as a woman of color (WOC), it didn’t take long for me to discover that there are problems in the beauty industry. Certain problems that at times frustrate me because I may walk into a beauty store and scour the internet and not find the solution I’m looking for. Simple solutions that are targeted towards women of other shades but not targeted towards WOC.

Consistency is key. If you’re a blogger or know anything about blogging you know this is what everyone preaches when speaking of success. While this is 100% true, I’ve learned that not enough people talk about being “absent”. I love blogging because it gives me an opportunity to share my story and connect with so many other like-minded women! But as an introvert, that constant pouring is absolutely draining. It’s draining to the point I easily get burned out and I never reach my true goal of consistency. I’ve been blogging every day this month but I’m slowly finding myself reaching that point of exhaustion. Especially when it comes to Instagram. So this past weekend, I deleted social media off of my phone in order to take a social media detox. More importantly, I listened to my body and decided to not feel guilty for taking a social media detox!
While I was on a social media detox this past weekend 3 big things happened!

Read more9 Bible Verses For Postpartum Depression
Postpartum depression is real. I know because it’s a journey I walked through for a while after I had Raelynn. It is a burden I carried until I sought Him for the wisdom, tools, and resources to overcome it all. If you’re reading this and this is your struggle as well, my prayer is that you realize that you’re not alone. You will get through this. We serve a God that is able to do abundantly more than we can ever ask for and think. He knows your needs and sees your heart. Never forget that, tie that reminder around your heart if you have to. He is near. And as you meditate on these bible verses I meditated on when I was battling postpartum depression, my prayer is that you see all that He’s trying to speak to you in this season (and remember it’s just a season and seasons are temporary!).

I’ve been so happy lately. Sure I have my bad days, but I’ve been feeling so great emotionally and physically. This year I’ve been extremely intentional in dressing myself so that I feel good. So along with renewing my mind (talked more about this here), I took on these practical steps to begin loving my postpartum body.
